Wilderness Education

Christ Episcopal School boasts many programs for students to participate in year around. However, one program makes CES a unique experience.

Our Wilderness Education program, led by Lana Dessauer, introduces students to opportunities available to them in nature as well as gives them an appreciation for caring for the environment.

Wilderness education is integrated in all grades as part of the physical education program. Students as young as Pre-kindergarten are exposed to the program with a yearly canoe trip with parents. As students grow and become more experienced, the opportunities grow as well, building on what they have learned in previous grades. The wilderness education experience culminates in a week-long trip to Yosemite National Park in high school, but there are many exciting activities planned for each grade as your child grows at CES.
